CV Life’s Cosy Corner Initiative Offering Residents a Place to Stay Warm and Sociable

A new CV Life initiative means leisure centre doors will be flung open to residents as the colder months arrive.

Cosy Corner will be an ongoing programme starting November 23 which will see select centres offer reduced price hot drinks and refills, a place to work during the day, and somewhere to generally stay warm and sociable at the same time. For football fans, the hubs will also be showing the World Cup matches on TV.

With free parking, free WiFi and refillable drinks, CV Life wants to give something back to the people of Coventry.

CV Life’s Community Development Manager Wendy Jackson said: “Winter can be a difficult and lonely time for some and we know lots of people are concerned as winter approaches, particularly amid the Cost of Living crisis.

“We take our role in the communities of Coventry very seriously. So if we can offer people a hub where they can come and work, a place you can come and get a hot drink while being greeted by a friendly face, we are only too happy to do so.

“So if you’re sat at home alone and fancy getting out of the house and having a chat, get yourself down to Cosy Corner at one of our venues.”

At the Xcel Centre tea and coffee will be £1 with free refills and cakes for 50p. There will also be an activities and advice hub

In the city centre, Cosy Corner will be at The Wave’s Cofa’s Cafe. However, if you need something more local, venues hosting the initiative across Coventry include Moat House, Coventry and North Warwickshire Cricket Club or Centre AT7.
