Our Aquarius Swim School swimming lesson programme allows kids to enrol for lessons at any time. Lessons run for 50 weeks of the year, with two weeks off over the Christmas and New Year period. This allows your child to have a continual swimming experience with us.
Lessons are 30 minutes in duration, with one-hour multi-aquatic classes available for children who have progressed through all of the stages – we run a continuous assessment for all children, enabling progression at the point when all the criteria has been achieved.
The swim programme focuses on all four main
strokes, water confidence and water skills. Children will develop key stroke
techniques whilst working towards badges from the ASA ‘learn to swim’ pathway.
We operate a direct debit payment scheme, which
is set up at the time of booking. Once set up, it will allow your child to
continuously move through the programme when the teacher feels they are
capable.
Coventry Sports Foundation (operated as CV Life) does not offer refunds, credit notes or change of times for any missed lessons due to illness or holiday. Doctors/hospital letters must be provided to receive credits for lessons missed due to illness/broken bones.

Enrolments for certain stages are available, with limited spaces. How to enrol: Firstly, check the list below to ensure the stage you are looking for is available! If so, visit us in-centre and speak with reception who will be happy to get you enrolled into swimming lessons. Please Note: please bring proof of address and bank details for the Direct Debit. Spaces will be on a first come, first served basis.

Progression
Ducklings classes are based on age range, whereas stages 1 upwards are classes based on ability. Children will progress through stages once all elements of the stage have been achieved.
Your child can progress to the next stage at any
time throughout the year. Your current teacher will present your child with a
progression slip which you take to reception. They will try to find you a class
that is convenient for you and, if we succeed, your child will move up to the
next stage the following week.
Once your child has completed a stage, they will be awarded with a badge which is available to purchase from reception.
Badges
We have a range of badges available for children to gain throughout the stages of the framework. These include ‘Stage’ badges when they complete a phase of progression, ‘Distance’ badges and ‘I Can’ Awards for the younger children.

All places are on a first come first served basis, tickets go on sale 15 minutes before.
On Bank Holiday, swim times may change.
The Foundation does not provide any floation aids during public swimming sessions. Armbands can be purchased at Reception.

Ducklings
A fun class for children aged 2½ to 4 and aims to build water confidence and motor skills without a parent in the water.
Ducklings 1-4 I Can Awards
Stage 1
This class is for children aged 4 and upward with no water confidence or swimming experience.
I Can Awards Puffin Stage 1
Stage 2
For children aged 4 and upwards who have confidence in the water. This class will develop basic stroke techniques, basic floating and jumping in.
5m Stage 2 Water Skills 1
Stage 3
This class will enable children to further develop front and back swimming techniques, safe entries, submersion and rotation skills.
20m Stage 3 Water Skills 2
Stage 4a
Children will be able to swim 10m unaided on both front and back in shallow water and will introduce all four stroke techniques.
This class is in deep water and will further develop swimming techniques. Children will be working towards maintaining correct technique over a long distance.
25m 5m Stroke Awards Stage 4 Water Skills
Stage 5
This class will develop all four main strokes as well as water skills such as sculling and treading water.
10m Distance Stroke 50m Stage 5 Water Skills 4
Stage 6
This class will develop effective swimming skills including coordinated breathing across all four strokes and building up stamina. Children will also be introduced to swimming in clothes and personal survival skills.
Personal Survival 1 100m 200m
Stage 7
All four swimming strokes will be performed for the distance of 25m. Skills learnt throughout stages 1-7 will be refined and further developed.

Rookie Lifeguard
Learn about water safety, how to save yourself, act out rescues, swim with your clothes on and have lots of fun too (1 Hour).
Bronze 1,2,3. Silver 1,2,3. Gold 1,2,3.
Multi Aquatics
This class develops the finer technical points of all four strokes, speed and stamina. Children will be introduced to other aquatic activities: diving, water polo and synchronised swimming (1 Hour).
